As an added bonus, the filter was also punctured and lactating milk the entire time.
He had us drain and refill it about 3 times until it looked semi-normal then went on his merry way.

So after a little bit of prying the dude about how the hell he managed this... i found out he took the car to the drag strip. Put slicks on it and launched at 3000 rpms and so when it hooked it blew the rear end up which kicked up and caused the trans to grenade...

Had to back out, explained “I probably drove a little further then I should.” Best part is that he drove it 100km back to the shop on the highway.
So far we have gotten two quotes for the customer. First body shop was $9805 and the second shop quoted $9636. (Both prices are in Canadian Dollars, roughly $7350 US)

This motor has a 10 000 mile oil change schedule indicated. Customer has records showing them done at around 5k-8k.
A motor dying at 60k miles isn’t right.

Called Ford Corporate and it seems that the customer is SOL...

There were 8 screws (in random places,) 3 double sided adhesive pads, and what I can only assume is an adhesive calk. The rattle was a Hot Wheels car in the spare tire cubby..

Had to remove the high voltage battery to perform regular maintenance on the car. The battery is 460V and only weighs about 25 to 30 pounds. Complete carbon fiber shell keeps it rigid and light.

So far this is all we know it came in on the truck like this from the accident scene. Currently the vehicle is on hold and we’re storing it pending investigation and biohazard cleanup

it’s a 2018 malibu... This car was in a wreck and declared a total loss. That’s the connector for a seatbelt pre-tensioner. Someone told this customer that they replaced all of the airbags and seatbelts and charged them for parts and labor. All four front seatbelt retractor pre-tensioners and anchor pre-tensioners had resistors installed to trick the airbag module into thinking there is nothing wrong, thus making the warning light turn off. Only a real piece of shit would do something like this.

If that Malibu with the resisters wired on was mine, I would track down whoever did that, and beat them t o death with their own shoes.

i did it on the cruiser. so mad. i still need to get in there and fix it better. it's fine and safe and not anything critical, but I'm going to make a better job of it here soon.

That  matchbox car/license plate story was the most Oppo thing I’ve seen in awhile.  Certainly a story the responsible party will be laughing at with their own kids when they grow up.

About 20 years ago, a buddy of mine got a great deal on a cheap used car. Only catch was, it had a weird clunk/rattle in the back. We could not for the life of us figure out what it was. Finally he took it to mechanic. After a thorough inspection he figured out the culprit ... The spare tire was loose in the well.

I did it on a Sebring many years ago, didn’t short anything though.  Liquid electrical tape to the rescue.

Good to mix up the frames rusted in half and fluids puking out with simple issues.
